Obituary of Elaine Lorna Wellein

WELLEIN, Elaine Lorna (nee Shantz).

 

Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener with her loving daughters by her side on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at the age of 93 years.  Beloved wife of the late J.A. “Frank” Wellein.  Dear mother of Frances Wellein (William Crone), Nancy Wellein and Mary Anne Wellein. Survived by her sister Joan Fackoury (the late Tony). Predeceased by her parents Clayton and Hannah Shantz, siblings Maurice “Bud” (Ronnie), Harold “Curly” (Violet), Catherine “Kay” (Charles) and infant Donald.

Elaine was a homemaker and stay at home mom, and later worked for the Post Office for over 23 years.  She enjoyed reading prior to suffering vision loss due to macular degeneration.  She spent many enjoyable years attending SABLE Seniors Getaways with her sister Kay, and later on with her daughters and sister Joan. 

Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of Elaine with her family during a visitation on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 12-1:45pm. at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo followed by a Funeral Service in the chapel of the funeral home at 2pm. Reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and Spiritual Staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for their wonderful care.
