Obituary of Willemina Grootenboer

Born January 17, 1943, Willemina went to be with her Lord on July 16, 2019 after an extended and courageous battle with cancer.

Willemina’s chief joys in life were her family and her flower gardens. She was a loving nurturer, always providing and caring for her husband, Ed, her children Denise (Phil Dykstra), Roger (Deb), Timothy (Catherine), Michael (Yvonne) and Jennifer (Mark Cunningham). God also blessed her with 15 cherished grandchildren and four (and counting) great-grandchildren.

Willemina and her family have been grateful for the amenities and health care available to them. And at this time the family wants to express a heartfelt thank you to the exceptional palliative care staff at Freeport Hospital.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20 from 6-8 pm. Willemina’s Celebration of Life service will be on Monday, July 22 at 2 pm, with reception to follow. Both events will take place at Community Christian Reformed Church, 1275 Bleams Rd, Kitchener.
