Obituary of Bill Martens

Bill passed away peacefully at Trinity Village Care Centre in Kitchener, on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in his 76th year.

Predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Karen.  Loving father of Debbie Williams and husband Allen and Dale Martens and wife Yvonne.  Proud and loving grandpa of Eric and Sidney Martens.  Dear brother of George Martens of Winnipeg, MB, David Martens and wife Ruth of Coaldale, AB, Mary Lowen of Vauxhall, AB, and Susie Kimura of Coaldale, AB.  Brother-in-law of Mary Schmold and husband Ben of Coaldale, AB and Anna Ruediger and husband George of Waterloo, ON.

Predeceased by his parents Mary and Henry Martens, parents-in-law Anna and Bernhard Rempel, brothers Ben, Jake, Henry, John, and sisters Tina Schulz, Sarah Gaskell, and Helen Blair.

Bill was a longtime employee of Arriscraft/Angelstone in Cambridge.  He loved woodworking and fixing things.  Above all, Bill loved his grandchildren.

Special thanks to the staff and residents of Trinity Village Care Centre, Walnut Grove who treated Bill as part of his family.

The Martens family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 7-9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at W-K United Mennonite Church, 15 George St., Waterloo on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. with visitation prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m.  Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo.
