Obituary of Theresa Friedmann
Surrounded by family, Theresa passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s hospital. Predeceased by her husband Jack in August 2006, Theresa is survived by her sisters Joan, Celeste (Sally) and Bernie. She was predeceased by her sisters Patricia, Rosemary, Maura and Gloria.
Theresa and Jack had 6 children: Terry (Jan), John (Liz), Peter (Raymonde), Joanne, Philip (Marilyn), Chris (Tara). There are also 11 grandchildren: Dylan, David, Michael, Karyn, Daniel, Christine, Alex, Jordan, Raina, Christian and Jewel, and 5 great grandchildren. Theresa will miss all her family including 50 nieces and nephews, who were all special to her.
Theresa had a full career as a teacher, starting in 1945 and after temporary departures to raise six children, returned to the profession and finally retired in the late 1980’s. She taught in Linwood at St Mary’s, in Kitchener-Waterloo at St. Boniface, St. Aloysius, Sacred Heart, St. Joseph’s and St. Michael’s. Teaching was not her only passion, as she was well versed in sewing, quilting, knitting, stained glass, weaving, playing music and sporting activities. She was a devoted mother and wife, giving all her efforts to help others. The Traynor sisters were inseparable, and she kept lifelong relations with all her sisters.
Many thanks go to all the staff at Terrace on the Square. She truly appreciated their support and compassion. She often remarked that she was lucky to live there, and it was the best home she could imagine. To Dr. Julie Wilhelm, a huge debt of gratitude for years of devoted attention and fashion advice.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with prayers at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday August 11, 2019 at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home 171 King Street S. in Waterloo, next door to her home at Terrace on the Square. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday August 12th at St. Louis R C Church, 53 Allen Street E. in Waterloo, where there will also be refreshments, and fellowship following the interment at Parkview cemetery.
