Obituary of Blake Johnston

Passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Freeport Health Centre at the age of 76 years.

Blake was predeceased by his beloved wife Sandra in 2001. He is survived by four children, Pamela Johnston (Patrick Allison), Valerie (Steve) Dickson, Christa Johnston, and Steven (Silvia Di Tiero Johnston) and his four cherished grandchildren Alexis, Jack, Blake and Vivienne. Blake is also survived by his siblings, Brian (Linda), Bruce Jr., Sharon (Ed) Ratcliffe, Brent (Jackie), Judy, Gail (Pat) McDaid and Joan (Todd) Richber. He was also predeceased by his sister-in-law Joyce.

 

Blake joined the City of Waterloo Fire Dept. in 1966. He was a fire fighter until his retirement in1998. He enjoyed playing sports in his youth, from bowling to baseball and hockey. His retirement was spent watching sports and enjoying his grandchildren.

 

Friends are invited to share their memories of Blake with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday, August 16, 2019, from 6-8 pm and Saturday, August 17 from 10-10:45 am.  The service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:00 am.  A reception will take place in the Fireside Reception Room and interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
