Obituary of Mary Elizabeth McCallum

Mary passed away peacefully, at her home in Waterloo, on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the age of 95.

Dearest mother of Peter McCallum and his wife Kathy of LaSalle and Elizabeth and her husband Rev. Robert Krestick of Waterloo.  Loving grandmother of Lisa Jackson (Andrew), Andrew Krestick (Jennifer), all of Waterloo, Sarah McCallum of LaSalle, Lydia Fischer (Dr. Steven) of Waterloo, Amy O’Kane (Johnny) of LaSalle and great-grandmother of Benjamin Jackson, Jacob Jackson, Thomas and Isla Krestick and Abigail Fischer, all of Waterloo.  Dear sister of William Tiegs of Windsor.  Mary will be missed by many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Predeceased by her husband Charles McCallum, parents Walter and Mary Tiegs, sister June and brother-in-law Alex Watson, and sister-in-law Marion Tiegs.

Mary worked at Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd. in Windsor and volunteered at Windsor Western Hospital and Luther Village on the Park (Waterloo) in the Wellness Centre.  She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church and a Charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in Windsor.

Mary’s family wishes to thank the staff of Luther Village on the Park and the ParaMed staff for their excellent care.

Mary’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 78 John St. W., Waterloo on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11 a.m.  A reception will immediately follow at the church.  The committal service will be held at Victoria Memorial Gardens, 1185 Highway 3, Old Castle, Ontario on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 1 p.m.  A reception will immediately follow the committal service at the Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home, 1525 Highway 3, Old Castle (located beside the cemetery).

Following the committal service at Victoria Memorial Gardens on Saturday, a reception will be held at the Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home, 1525 Highway 3, Old Castle, Ontario (located beside the cemetery).
