Obituary of Agnes Teresa Price
PRICE, Agnes Theresa (KING) – (March 22, 1930 – Sept. 11, 2019) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a kind and generous lady. Agnes was a strong willed, loving and devoted wife of 69 years. Agnes loved life and her family, but missed her beloved husband, Harvey. Harvey predeceased Agnes just four short months ago, on May 11, 2019.
Agnes was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. She was a coal miner’s daughter and had six sisters and one brother.
Agnes moved to Kitchener, Ontario, from Halifax, Nova Scotia, with her sister, Flo, in 1948. This is when she met Harvey, the big, northern Ontario man.
When Agnes arrived in Kitchener, she took a position as a waitress. She later worked at Smiles N’ Chuckles and Burns Meat factories in Kitchener, along with her sisters. Agnes accepted a position with the Waterloo County Board of Education, working evenings at various schools throughout the Region and this is where she retired.
Agnes leaves an emptiness in the lives of her children, Gerald, Brenda Bartlett (Randy), Brian (Linda), and H. Allan. Agnes will also be missed by her 6 grandchildren, Michelle (Real Picard), Sean (Paige Kearns), Belinda, Jaime (Mark Ward), Jessica, and Rebecca (Kraig Tardif). Agnes was also the extremely proud great-grandma of 15 great-grandchildren, Luca, Paisley, William, Jedd, Samantha, Sean, Tyson, Makayla, Carter, Nolan, Lilly, Clara, Ethan, Kallan, and Maelle. Agnes will also be missed by her brother-in-law, Warren (Mary) and sisters Marilyn (Rex) Williams, and Julia (Matthew) McMullin. Agnes was predeceased by her parents, Patrick KING (1981), Clara (ALLEN) (1997), brother, Gordon (Kay DEVEAUX), sisters, Dorothy (Ken SCHIROKANSKI), Florence (Fred WALKER), Marjorie (John ROTH), Vivian (Manny MATHESON). Agnes will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Agnes was a proud member of St. John’s the Evangelist, Anglican Church, Kitchener, Ontario.
