Obituary of Lissy Kate Phillips

It is with much heart felt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on September 14, 2019 in her 88^th year.

Lissy will be sadly missed by her sons John (Sharon), Rob (Karen) and daughter Karen (Bruce) and a brother Dan (Betty).  A fabulous grandmother to Chris, Matt, James, Maggie, Jenna and great grandmother to 12 great grandchildren especially new great granddaughter Clara. Predeceased by her beloved husband Ted, sisters Christa, Mary, Betty and Margaret. 

Mom made her journey with courage, acceptance and fortitude. She was able to have a great visit with all her family before her passing. She enjoyed family lunches, playing cards, tile rummy and enjoying the fresh air and gardens in the courtyard and especially holding baby Clara.  What made mom so special was that she was strong and silent and above all else non-judgmental. An amazing mom and friend, she will be missed.

A big thank you to all her friends at Court at Laurelwood for the past three years to the exceptional care from the palliative care unit at Freeport Hospital, her church friends from Forest Hill United and all others who knew her. 

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 2:30 - 3:00 pm.  A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 3:00 pm.  Reception to follow in the fireside reception room.  Cremation will have taken place and interment will take place at Rayside-Balfour Cemetery.
