Obituary of Mary Baechler

(nee Yantzi)

Mary passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the age of 95.

Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill Baechler in 1997 and great-granddaughter Emilia Barnaby in 2014.

Mary is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jim Blomfield, Pauline and Brian Horn, Elaine and Ron Couch; four grandchildren, Kevin and Lauren Horn, Danielle and Justin Barnaby, Peter Horn, and Graeme and Jill Couch; five great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Jamieson, Paisley, Addilyn, and Finley; sisters, Ruby and Carlyle Holst and Verna Brayshaw; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Irma and Floyd Buehler; and many nieces and nephews.  Dearly loved by Rob and Brenda Ann Snell.

Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Edna and Solomon Gerber, Melinda and Milton Roth, Wilma and Lloyd Stere, Anna and Lorne Baechler, Dorothy and Alvin Lebold, Mahlon and Ruth Yantzi, Emma and Mahlon Steinman, Lester and Nancy Yantzi, Christian Yantzi; sister-in-law, Helen Yantzi; brother-in-law, Jack Brayshaw; and Bill’s sisters and their spouses, Eva and Clarence Gascho, Gertrude and Oliver Steckle, Verda Baechler, and Gladys and Neil Gingerich.

Mary will be remembered for her love of quilting.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 12 – 12:45 p.m.  The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Kellie McComb from First United Church officiating.  Interment at Exeter Cemetery at a later date.
