Obituary of Elaine Cressman
Cressman, Elaine Marie
Aug. 26, 1930-Sept. 30, 2019
On September 30, 2019, Elaine Cressman, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in her 90th year.
Elaine lived her life with focus on faith, family and friends. Busy in her role as Pastor’s wife, she raised five children: Bruce (Esther) Cressman, Barbara Gross, Brenda (Andrew) Kirkland, Beverley (Mark) King, and Bradley (Terri) Cressman and she doted on her 15 grandchildren: Andrew (Melissa), Jonathan (Tammy), Mark (Katy), Jeff (Tim), Jessica (Ben), Kristen (Stephen), Jamie, Jill (Spencer), Korey, Luke (Jocelyn), Shane, Zoe (Ian), Benjamin (Carly), Zachary and Jacob and five great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Daniel, Stella, Hannah and Sophie. She also enjoyed her many hobbies: reading, creative writing, gardening and sewing doll clothes. She volunteered for many years at Rockway Mennonite Thrift Shop and took in many Rockway Mennonite Collegiate students as boarders. Elaine always put others before herself. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, sensitivity and creativity. She was an inspiration to the end accepting with a smile the challenges she faced. A life well lived. “Thank you for the memories Mom.”
Elaine is also survived by her sister Pat (Mike) Hammer, predeceased by her husband Irvin Cressman, parents Harvey and Nola Schmucker, brother Allen (Alice), and brothers and sisters-in-law Vera (Mike) Miller and Lester (Gladys) Cressman.
