Obituary of Anita Elizabeth Hammond

Hammond, Anita Elizabeth (Bauer) passed away peacefully at the Derbecker’s Heritage House in St. Jacobs on October 3, 2019 at the age of 96. Anita was born on September 17, 1923 in Waterloo, Ontario.

She was predeceased by her husband Grant Hammond on March 24, 1968.

Anita will be sadly missed by her three children: Preston Hammond, Pat Heimpel (Brian), Linda Roeder (Gerry), also grandchildren: Michael Hammond, Jonathan Hammond (deceased), Ben Hammond, and Jeffrey, Tim, Ashley Heimpel, and Wendy Cox and Kevin Roeder as well as 9 great-grandchildren: Sam and William Hammond, Jaimey and Braden Heimpel, Jayden, Nathan, Aaron and Sarah Cox, and Jillian Roeder.

Anita was predeceased by her parents Otilda and Louis Bauer, sister Eileen Reidel, and brother Frank(Wilbert)Bauer (killed in the Second World War).

A private Service and Burial will take place with the direct family.

Anita’s family would like to thank the leadership and staff of the Derbecker Heritage House in St. Jacobs.
