Ditner, George Anthony

Peacefully, on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at his home in Waterloo.

Beloved husband to Martha Cain, lovingly remembered by his children Kevin and Sean Ditner, and step daughter Julie Parker; fondly remembered by his step grandchildren Savannah and Audrey Slimmon; dear brother to Ronald and Darlyn (McFaul) Ditner , Theresa (Ditner) and Henning Sorensen and Eugene Ditner  ; dear uncle to Lisa Sorensen and Wayne and Katherine (Thompson) Sorensen ; great uncle to David, Derek and Jared Sorensen. Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Emma (Kocher) Ditner.

George was born in Toronto and raised near Erbsville. A plumber by trade, George and his business partner Ken Irvine owned and operated County Mechanical Contracting for over 25 years. In his retirement he freelanced for various local construction companies. George loved to travel, he and Martha traveled extensively and frequently until his health slowed him down. He was a proud dog parent, to a spoiled cock-a-poo named Holly, who misses her Papa very much.

George’s family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., in Waterloo on Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 1-2pm, with a brief memorial service to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 2pm. Luncheon to follow.
