Obituary of Giselle Rosemarie Degen

Passed away peacefully at Barnswallow Place Care Community, Elmira on Monday, November 4, 2019 at the age of 83 years.

Giselle was predeceased by her husband Walter in 2000, and her brother Gerry Gervais.  Survived by her sons Paul (Lorraine), David (Pauline), Mark (Cecilia), grandchildren Cynthia, Blaine, Andrew, Cheryl and eight great grandchildren.  Also, survived by her brother Roger Gervais and sisters Jeannine Gette, Angeline Boyd Benson, Cheryl Jervais and her nieces and nephews. 

Giselle enjoyed taking care of young children at her home during the years she lived in St. Agatha with Walter and her sons, as well as spending time years later with her grandchildren.  Giselle was very creative and found much pleasure in decorating her house, sewing, and doing crafts.   Giselle enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours working in her flowerbeds during her last years at the Kitchener house. She loved animals and birds, feeding and caring for any that would cross her path in her tiny back yard.    

Friends are invited to share their memories of Giselle with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 6-9 p.m.  Cremation will take place and a private family interment will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
