Obituary of Doris Bertha Marie Kanold

After an exceptionally long and healthy life Doris passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 91 years.

Doris was survived by her brother Elmer Stalkie (Marilyn Stalkie), her sister-in-law Isabel (Robert Stalkie), her daughter Mary Morrison (husband Bill Morrison), her four sons Peter Kanold (wife Kerry Kanold), John Kanold (wife Thecla Ross), Wayne Kanold (partner Jirina Petrovitch) and Tim Kanold. Dearly remembered by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who will lovingly remember her.

Doris was predeceased by her dear husband Don Kanold, her brothers Mervin Stalkie, (Marjorie), Orren Stalkie (Margaret), Robert Stalkie (Isabel) and sister Norma Ziegler (Jerry).

Doris had a joy for life and loved family get togethers - usually the first to arrive and the last to leave. She and Don raised their family in Port Colborne and later in Waterloo.  In her later years she lived in her condo at Eastwood Community where she spent many happy hours.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Doris with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 2: 30 – 4:15 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 4:30 p.m. Reception to follow.
