Obituary of Cheri Lynn Mahoney

MAHONEY, Cheri Lynn It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cheri Lynn Mahoney on January 6, 2020, at the age of 42. Cheri passed away peacefully after a courageous journey with melanoma. Cheri was an adoring and dedicated mother who leaves the world with a beautiful and enduring legacy in her two teenage daughters, Addison and Audrey. Born in Midland, Ontario on August 6, 1977, Cheri is also survived by her mother, Marilyn Lawson (Marcel); devoted sisters Michelle (Zsolt) Jonas and Shawna (Nathan) Lawson; former husband and friend Rick Mahoney; precious nieces & nephew Summer, Jackson, Olivia and Savannah; godchildren Julia & Ben Bidan; and countless friends and extended family whom she loved fiercely. After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2000, Cheri remained in Waterloo until her passing. Cheri was a long-standing employee of D2L, where she served as a Senior Director. Cheri was also a volunteer coach and supporter of the K-W Predators volleyball club. Cheri loved to read, travel and play organized sports in her spare time. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm, with a service to be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 1:00pm; a reception will follow.
