Obituary of Frantisek (Frank) Fisl

Frank Fisl Sr. passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the age of 76, while vacationing in the Dominican Republic. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dagmar, son Frank and wife Marketa (Mississauga), daughters Dasha and spouse Mark (Kitchener), Maggie and husband Glenn (Waterloo), and Lucie (Czech Republic); sister Dagmar and husband Tom (Kitchener) and niece Katerina; grandchildren Michael, Natalia, Hannah, Matti, Anna, Jakub, Sara, Mikulas and Amelie. He was predeceased by his parents Frantisek and Vlasta, and infant daughter Gabriela. A deeply loyal, jovial and traditional family man, he lived life according to principles of simplicity, modesty and humour. Frank was born in Pisek, Czechoslovakia in May 1943 and spent most of his childhood and adult life in Prague, until emigrating with his family to Canada in 1984. He obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Liberec, Czechoslovakia and retired from Cami Automotive in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. He spent his retirement years travelling with his wife, with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Despite all the places he visited, his favourite place was at home among his family. He will be deeply missed. Following cremation, a private family service and reception will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo.
