I remember the National Flower of Iran, the red rose, from a memorial service in Flemingdon Park in Toronto in 1988. This followed the loss of Iran Air Flight 655. The Iranian community and Canadians came together then to support one another and to grieve.
Today we grieve the loss of so many Canadians, and Iranian nationals who lived and worked in Canada in the loss of Ukrainian Flight 752 (PS752). This shocking loss touches hearts and souls across Canada. There are no appropriate words at such devastating time as this. May we stand together in love and solidarity for a better world.

A friend of mine who lives by Sunfish Lake to the west of my house had a lovely student by the name of Mari Foroutan, a Phd student from University of Waterloo who was working on his dock studying the lake. It's a beautiful place. You can smell the trees, feel the breezes here. It touched my heart to know a young woman like her was studying the water here. That she was driven to observe nature and discover it's secrets in this quite place to help advance the knowledge of this amazing ecosystem so full of mysteries. How the biodiversity of this pond all end up in this one isolated area is unknown but in my heart, now that her spirit is free, I hope she now knows the answers to such mysteries. The spirit like the water is limitless.
Another friend of mine lost a colleague named Ghanimat Azhdari. a PhD student from Guelph U who was helping Indigenous people to protect their lands and waters. As a long time Indigenous environmental advocate, I can relate to the passion that drives one to protect and preserve. Such callings are rooted in love. Love for the earth and it's blessings. Love for people. Love in the desire to protect the children of the future.
In this moment of sadness I look to find the rays of hope to shine through. I pray the memories of these beautiful people will go on. That their work will inspire others to continue their efforts. That the beauty of these people will inspire others to do good in this world of ours. The tragedy of the passing has yet to be resolved, but let our love for them be the first step we take in making a good legacy for them and for the world they loved so much. Build the legacy from the love of them and don't give an ounce of time on the rest of it. Those who caused the harm deserve no glory or legacy from this for they are but fools and cowards and have no more substance than that of the mists of early mornings at Sunfish lake.
May their love of all the passangers of this flight and it's crew, live on through our hearts, our minds and our acts of love for one another and this beautiful planet we share together.

Its very hard to write..But will try... Its heart breaking. So many innocent angels lost their life. Not sure what to write and what to say...All I can say, may the angel soul rest in peace. May god provide Strength to immediate family members and friends to bear the lose of their loved ones...Quote from Bhagavad Gita "Even as humans discards old clothes for the new ones, so the dweller in the body, the soul, leaving aside the worn-out bodies, enters into new bodies. The soul migrates from body to body. Weapons cannot cleave it, nor fire consume it, nor water drench it, nor wind dry it.” Thoughts and Prayers... Mani Nair ( Namaste Debate)

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of this horrific incident. I hope and pray for answers and some sort of closure for each family. Although your family member is gone, nobody can take the wonderful memories that you had together. Hold on to that and the love you had for each other. Thinking of you all.
