Joe was an important part of my life. I knew Joe for 60 years, since grade 9 at RCI where I met Bob. A great guy who I will sincerely miss. A good man, father, grandfather, great grandfather, husband, veteran and businessman. Joe always made time for Bob's friends growing up, welcomed us at his home in Etobicoke and cottage in Port Elgin. Gave us jobs at CESCO and always made us feel welcome. Great sense of humour and a memorable laugh. You'll be missed Joe but never forgotten. Condolences to Bob, Marilyn, Joanne and all the family.

Dear Bob, Marilyn and Joanne,
After we moved back East in 1963, the three of us (at the time) had the honour of meeting your dad. He was such fun and was always kind, loving and good at really listening to us, though we were all under 10. Later, he was an indulging godfather to our youngest sister, who was born in 1965. When our parents and the three oldest sisters went to Expo, your dad and mom looked after Jackie. He took her to a toy store, maybe in Port Elgin, and told her she could pick any toy. At only 2, she was already a canny shopper and walked straight to a shiny red tricycle, and told him that was what she wanted. He loved to tell us that story and how he ended up buying her a trike that was way too big for her, one that he attached blocks to so her feet could reach the pedals. His eyes twinkled in his special way as he bounced her on his knee. He loved children and he and your mom took me under their wing when I spent many weeks with Grandma and Grandpa in Port over the summers until I had part-time jobs. They were so welcoming and so loving. May God rest his soul. He was a great man.
With much love and sympathy,
Deb and Andy xoxoxo
