David, Jennifer and families - I am so very sorry to hear of your dear mom's passing. It was while she was giving a lecture on Waterloo County barns at KPL when she convinced me to join the Waterloo Historical Society. And, now, almost four decades later, I am still a member. I worked alongside Kathryn for many years on the WHS annual volume. She taught us much and we laughed a lot at our "pub meetings." Her smile dazzled and she smiled often. And always a cuppa and a square to end the evening's work. She was a strict task-masker, demanding but fair (we would expect nothing less). My garden has some of her brilliant pink summer phlox blooming every year. I "inherited" them when she was trying to get her flower gardens "under control." This summer when they bloom, I will think of her. We will miss her. My deepest condolences. Sincerely, Rosanne Atwater-Hallatt Heidelberg
