Mary Catherine Newcomb posted a condolence

Auntie Phil seemed to bring a fresh breeze or soft wind whenever we saw her and had a great sympathy for youthful vicissitudes. I remember receiving birthday and Christmas gift that were as exciting as a young girl could imagine. She understood things without making a big deal about it.
The last time I saw her I noticed her puzzled but watching me with her bemused smile. I know she either thought she remembered me form somewhere or wondered why I looked like a Newcomb.
The world is less without her. Remembering you with love.

When she couldn’t join us at my grandparents house for Christmas, Great Auntie Phil always sent a game for the family to play together. What a classy and generous thing to do. It made for a lot of fun Christmasses :) Rest in peace GAP, I love you and will miss you. -Nicky
