Sincere condolences to Pat & the entire family. I worked with Hugh at the City back in the day when I was secretary to the CAO. I was in the weekly all day meetings of all the department heads. Hugh was my favourite. I also had the great pleasure of having dinner with Hugh & Pat at the Somerset house once. My favourite expression of Hugh's was "you can't suck & blow at the same time". I have used that myself ever since & thought of him every time I said it. Such a great loss.

My Deepest Sympathy to your and your family. I worked with Hugh in the City of Kitchener Engineering Dept for several years. There was myself and Pat White at the time I worked with Hugh and all the other Engineers. What a wonderful time I had there. I had to leave as I got married and moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1964. I kept in touch with a few staff members and they were all keeping me in touch with the wonderful engineers that worked there. Hugh was a great inspiration to me and one of the best "bosses" I ever worked for. My husband has also passed away and I am now retired and living in Cambridge, Ont. A lot of memories. My heart goes out too you at this time. Take Care and Best Wishes. Helen Millen

Dear Aunt Trish,David,Paul,Karen,Diane,Michael&Ellen:My memories of Uncle Hughie & our family cocoon get-togethers (12 kids, 8 adults & 2 dogs) are nothing but loving and special, whether in Dunnville, Kitchener, St. Kitts or wherever Uncle Charlie had just bought a new house. I am, & always have been, family proud. Uncle Hughie is proof of what makes family matter. A taciturn man
who had a comedic side & who I loved to torment with "the kiss". But he & I knew that my kiss was heartfelt & a symbol of family.
I grieve with you all but only for a short time because he lives on in the family he left behind. I love you all, Cathy

I have such fond memories of hanging out at the Flood family home on Evergreen with my best friend Diane. I recall Mr. Flood trying so hard to help us with our Math homework and coaching us when we were learning to play the guitar. So many memories that I'm sure all of you will hold onto dearly as well. To my dear friend Diane, Mrs. Flood who was like a second mother to me and the whole family, I share my deepest sympathies. He lived a good, long, family filled life so now he can truly rest in peace. God Bless all of you as you stick together through this challenging time. Anne Marie (Sehl) Hammer
