We wish to send our sincere sympathies to all of Peggy's family. We are residents at Winston Park Retirement Home and enjoyed our friendship with Peggy.
We initially knew about Peggy through her music and were always pleased to hear her play. When Velda moved to Long Term Care last fall, we got to know her much better. She was friendly and welcoming and she had a wonderful, warm sense of humour. Velda and Peggy had long talks about family and travels; they particularly enjoyed looking through a photo album of Bruce and Velda's trip to Alaska as Peggy had also travelled there and there were many landmarks and sites to recall.
In February, we learned of a pleasant coincidence when our daughter met Janet in the hall at Winston Park; Janet taught our grandson Ryan in Kindergarten. It truly is a small world!
Velda admired Peggy's spirit and said that even as she was failing last week, she tried to create some magic in the dining room.
We will both miss her and we will be thinking of her family at this difficult time. Peace be with you.
