Our family met Henry when we purchased the home in Waterloo he shared with Elsie. He was a lovely man, and was very encouraging of our plans to turn his home into an accessible space for our son, who lived with disabilities. We particularly enjoyed the opportunity to see his amazing woodwork, and to hear stories of life in Leamington.
The Mennonite community runs deep, and those who knew we purchased his home shared with us the sad news of his passing. Our deepest condolences to the Flaming Family.

Dear Elsie and Family: May God comfort you as you grieve the passing and cherish the memories of your husband, father and grandfather. I remember fondly the many conversations and committee meetings with Henry. As a teacher and principal he was deeply committed to the education of newcomer children from Low German Mennonite families from Latina America. May God Bless and Keep you. Marvin and Audrey Dueck

We are so sorry to hear of Henry's passing. While we never had the pleasure to meet, we know that Allen's kindness, gentle nature and generosity must have been learned from an early age from his parents. May Henry rest in peace.

Dear Aunt Elsie, Rob (Bert), Al, Don and Ron -- I am so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Uncle Henry. I have very fond memories of hanging out at your farm as a young boy and the many "sleepovers" I enjoyed at your place. You and Uncle Henry welcomed me with open arms and made me feel just like another one of your boys. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to the Flaming family.
I think back to my time when Mr Flaming was the principal of Romney Central School. I remember the sternness in his voice when he called me into his office. But what I remember most was his guidance and encouragement. His morning reading of the Lord's Prayer. And that time he had to call my father when I may have gotten a little out of hand. (I smiled inside when i recalled that memory)
He will be deeply missed!

Dear Aunt Elsie and family - we are saddened to hear of Uncle Henry's passing. We extend our thoughts and prayers for God's comfort at this difficult time of loss. I always remember Uncle Henry as kind, caring, and compassionate. I have often reflected on his story of me falling asleep on his lap as he drove the tractor while doing farm work. He was a wonderful uncle in so many ways. I am so glad we had the opportunity for a visit this past summer.
