Erika Beatriz (Moesch) Hocaliuk, 63, of Waterloo, Ontario passed away on Monday April 27th 2020.

 

An intimate private family funeral service will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home on Monday May 4th at 3 pm with Deacon Philip Fernandez of St. Michael’s Catholic Church officiating. Erika's extended family and friends may view the service via livestream at www.erbgood.com Private family visitation will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home on Monday May 4th from 1-2 pm.

 

Erika was born in São Paulo, Brazil to Karl and Olivia Moesch on the 5th of September 1956. She immigrated to Toronto, Canada with her family in June 1959. She attended St. Josephs’ School in Toronto when she then graduated and moved to Waterloo with her husband Thomas. They married on the 2nd of July 1976. She was the mother of five and the grandmother to ten grandchildren, aunt of three and beloved by many. Erika, mom, Nana. daughter, sister, friend, aunt, mother, grandmother. Artistic, loving, blunt, and joyful. A lover of plants, spiritual, compassionate, and at times stubborn. She was a mother figure to many, a caring friend, and a force to be reckoned with. She especially loved her role as Nana. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh.

 

Erika is survived by her husband Thomas Hocaliuk of Waterloo Ontario, her children Michael, Mary, Marcus (Katherine - deceased), Mathew (Tara) and Meagan (Andrew). Her mother Olivia Moesch, her sister Olivia (Alan) Morris, and her grandchildren: Evan, Joshua, Emily, Mattaius, Katelyn, Greyson, Thomas, Sawyer, Emilia and Kiah. She is preceded in death by her Father, Karl, her brother Karl and her daughter-in-law Katherine.
