We were honoured to know Betty as a dear friend for over thirty five years. Grayce and I “struck gold” when we became neighbours to Betty and Gene.
Within minutes of first meeting Betty, she made us feel completely accepted, and thus began a marvelous friendship.
Among her many talents, Betty was a gourmet cook, and delighted in helping Grayce learn to cook excellent, authentic German recipes, still enjoyed today. One of our favourite, a Black Forest cake made from scratch. Betty prepared two Black Forest cakes for our wedding. They were the hit of the party and the "Icing on the cake" to a memorable day.
Invited to backyard parties, family gatherings, and sharing long walks together are a few of the wonderful memories with Betty.
We were welcomed as part of Betty's extended family. On two occasions, home construction delays, found us “homeless” for a brief period of time. Betty with her unlimited generosity, saved the day, and invited us to stay in her home, and treated us as royalty.
Betty was a most extraordinary, supportive friend. Grayce and I are better for having known Betty.
To Jeff, Dieter, Mark, and family - we are holding you close in our hearts.
Grayce and Gerry Minor

That is a lovely tribute to your Mom. She was a very talented lady, some of my favourite clothes were made by Betty. Her family was her life and she has left a lovely legacy in her sons, daughters in law and grandchildren. It was very special that she got to meet her great grandson Miles.
Take care of yourselves and we will remember your Mom with much love.
Love Robin and Jack

Dieter, Mark, Jeff, and family, we were deeply saddened to hear of Betty's passing yesterday and offer sincere condolences to all of you at this difficult time. I met Betty and Gene by chance on a tour bus in Honolulu in 1978. There was an instant connection and we've remained friends ever since. I have lots of wonderful memories of time spent with Betty. She was always the perfect hostess, whether it was dinner or one of the epic pool parties in their backyard. You couldn't have chosen a more suitable photo for her memorial. This is just how I remember her - smiling and letting us know how happy she was to see us. Her light has gone out but we will cherish the memories. Betty, you were a true friend and we will never forget you.
