Obituary of Lindo (Lyn) Gino Bortolin
July 02, 1923 – May 02, 2020
Lindo (Lyn) Gino Bortolin passed away peacefully, all too soon from covid-19, in his 97th year.
He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Marion, his mother Michelina, father Giovanni, older brother Leo Amorino, and younger brother Delphi. Lyn is missed, loved and remembered by his children Anne (Bruce), Natalie (Don) and Peter (Grace). Also, by his grandchildren Andrew (Billie), Katie (Dwight), Chris, Daniel (Michelle) and Nico. Also, Michael (Jenny), Julie (Jon) and Cheryl (Josh) and by oodles (12) of great-grandchildren. Lyn was soon to be great-grandpa to a wee boy in 3 months. Also, by his sister-in-law Violet, nephew Bob and family, niece Michele (Cam), and nephews David (Dion), Ted (Eric), cousin Lucie and Josephine. Also remembered by Mario and Dina, and Gloria.
Lyn grew up in British Columbia, a son of Italian immigrants, and to a family he was so proud to be a part of. He worked hard and lived well, always being involved in all that he could. As a chemical engineer, and employed by CSA, he worked across Canada and was involved with issues still relevant today. With family life, he made sure that we had a full life too. Dad loved his golf, curling and in his 80’s, his tennis community.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff of Trinity Village for their kind and gentle care, and especially Andrea Morneau for helping Lyn continue to enjoy life.
Cremation has taken place and due to covid-19, there will be a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, Lyn would smile knowing that a red geranium be planted for him. Donations will be gratefully accepted by Trinity Village Care Centre, Kitchener and may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
