Your kind words reiterate what a special woman mom was, and how her ever giving of her humor (watch out sometimes) and selflessness, that we all knew.
We are glad to have shared her with the world.
Yellow Rose's, lilies of the valley, lilacs, road runners, birds, family, friends, root beer floats and kindness were all backbones to someone I myself (Teresa) always try to emulate and will always admire.
God bless you all for being such great friends and family

Just a note to pass on our condolences on the death of Eula Mae. She was a big part of Knox and will be missed. I think I will always see her in my mind's eye as she sat patiently waiting to go out for lunch with the ladies after worship. We have one of the blankets that she wove and have also enjoyed her Christmas cake - and her friendly smile.
We look forward to possibly celebrating her life at some time in the future.
Sincerely,
Femmy Birks.

Eula Mae has shared her kindness, sense of humor and wit with everyone she meets. My daughter still remembers that when she was a shy 9 year old newspaper delivery girl Eula Mae would often come out and sit on the curb and they would have a nice chat.

Thank you for letting us know about Eula May. This is indeed very sad news.
The very fist time I played bridge on Tuesday with you CFUW ladies, my partner was Eula May. Before we began playing, I asked her if she played Stayman, transfers, etc. She replied “no, I just play bridge”
Guess I will always have a place in my heart for her.

Thinking of Eula Mae brings back so many happy memories.... I've been playing in this group since '77-'78, a member since '79 - and so I've enjoyed her over the bridge table for many years. In her quiet way, she'd pull off a bid that we certainly didn't expect, with her good card sense - and delight us with her sense of humour. (An English teacher would say that that's too many 'sense's!)
Her life was quite difficult at times because of some members of her family, but she weathered the storms with her inimitable spirit and style.
We will miss her. I think my last letter, delivered to her son, may not have reached her in time, but I'm sure that she knows, very well, in what esteem we hold her.

I agree with everything that has been said. As I grow older (of course I am still very young) I appreciate those that leave a mark on the world. When Eula Mae arrived you knew she was there!

I fondly remember her dangling her legs in the water while sitting on the edge of the dock. We also played bridge at different cottages. They were lots of fun.
I often teased her about Slippery Rock and Butler PA. My son lives in Arlington, Virginia and I drive past Butler County on the way there.
I purchased one of Bob Myers paintings when Eula Mae was selling them and so whenever I look at it in the future I will think of Bob and Eula Mae.
Eula Mae had the greatest sense of fun and I hear she played pranks on her kids quite often. She loved playing bridge where she showed her mathematical skills. She was always lots of fun while playing and chatting. We will all miss her terribly.
Thank you for taking such good care of her. Doris Cowan

Eula Mae led an amazing life and she found sunshine and laughter wherever she went. She was such a warm person. I have a friend in Dallas , who was a bridge buddy here, and when talking to her on Monday I mentioned Eula Mae. I believe she and her husband, Bob I think, lived there for a few years. And they met at an Aztec or Mayan pyramid in Mexico. I loved her stories of their times in France. One of a kind is often overused, but it describes Eula Mae perfectly. Frances Adam

It has been so nice to read all the memories and tributes the bridge players have written about Eula Mae. I would just like to add my admiration for this very generous and thoughtful lady, who with her husband, Bob, welcomed Ray and me to the French Department social life and became very close friends. When our younger son was hospitalized as a very tiny child, there appeared on his hospital bed a stuffed monkey hanging by his tail. That was Mark's introduction to Curious George, and of course it came from Eula Mae. This is just a small example of her kindness and love of people. She holds a prominent place in all our hearts.
