My sister Pat was three years older than me. She looked out for me in so many ways and was there to confide in. She taught me how to write a story in high school, how to express my opinion and when to keep it just between us.
Why she had to endure so much for so long is hard to understand. I can only think that the Lord was teaching us all through her. We can all see that she taught her family how to love. You all deserve
"A"Plus for the love and care of Pat.
I am very proud of all of you!

Dear John, Jason, Sean, and Mary Beth, and members of the Dietrich and Henhoeffer families,
I was sorry to hear about the passing of dear Pat. Please accept my sincere sympathy at the loss of a warm, sensitive and attentive wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. I got to know Pat well while she was teaching at St. Francis School, and I was the newly ordained Associate Priest. She was a great teacher, gentle and caring for her students, always giving above and beyond with her class. Pat was a great friend, and was always taking the initiative with me, and arranging us to continue growing in our friendship, especially whenever I was home from Bolivia. I always had not only tremendous meals with her and her family, but sincere exchanges of experiences, which allowed our friendship to grow. Pat was always such a positive person, and it pained me the last time I saw her to know that the memories of our times together were no longer hers. The same warm smile and gentle words, but not the Pat I came to know, respect, and love. I will offer Mass for Pat tomorrow here at our Chapel of our Generalate in Rome, for her eternal rest, but also for all of you who mourn her passing, and will miss her terribly, so that the consolation and peace of the resurrection of Jesus will be with each of you. Her faith life was very important to Pat, and it brought her such peace and joy, part of her legacy for all of you.
Very Rev. Paul S. Voisin, C.R.
