DUTU, Victorita

With deep sadness, and graceful hearts of a life fully lived, we announce the death of Victorita Dutu. She peacefully left this world for her eternal home on June 29, 2020, aged 83, feeling surrounded by the love of her family from both sides of the ocean.

Victorita was a wonderful wife, an amazing mother, a loving grandmother with a strong commitment to her family.

She was born in Orlesti, Romania, the daughter of Constantin and Alexandrina, and at age of 21 she graduated from nursing college. One year later, Victorita married Damian, the one she cherished and loved for her entire life, and thus lived an unforgettable and beautiful life story together.

For 40 years, Victorita fulfilled a career as a registered nurse with compassion, love and positivity, having a profound impact in saving and aiding peoples’ lives. In her retirement, she bravely devoted her time between Romania and Canada so that she can take care of her grandchildren while spreading joy, laughter and happiness throughout their lifetimes.

She enjoyed reading novels, playing rummi, dancing, cooking and listening to classical music. She taught her family what it means to be a strong, selfless and empathetic people while also encouraging optimism and hope to anyone who was fortunate to come across her in her lifetime. She guided the family to the very end, even in the last few days of her remaining time. Every decision in her life was taken with love and strength rather than hatred and fear.

She is survived by her proud children Carmen, Adrian, Mariana, Lucian and grandchildren Alex, Irina and Tiberiu.

She was predeceased by her husband, Damian Dutu.

The family would like to thank the staff of Innisfree House for their outstanding care, compassion, and support.
