Obituary of Elizabeth French

Elizabeth (Betty) French, 88, passed peacefully into the arms of her Saviour at Chartwell Westmount LTC Kitchener on Thursday, July 2nd.

 

Loving mother of son Robert French of Markham, daughter Catherine Serez and husband Fred of Waterloo. Cherished grandmother of Annie, Sofia and Ben Serez. Beloved aunt of Anne Barber, husband Don and daughter Francesca. Jacqueline Whitney, husband Desmond and son Trent, Michelle Hill, husband Adam and daughter Hailey. Alan, Trevor and the late Russell Holmes. Predeceased by her husband, Norman French, mother Annie Heaney, father Robert Heaney, brothers William Heaney, Victor Heaney and sister Phyllis Holmes.

 

Betty was born in Ligoniel, N.I. to Robert and Annie Heaney on May 7, 1932.  She worked at Wolf Hill and Emerson’s Mills for 7 years, immigrated to Canada in 1953 and worked for 39 years as an office manager at Letraset, Neilson and Bainbridge. Betty attended Peoples Church until she could not longer travel and then she attended Church In The Village. She was an avid supporter of Participation House Markham. She will be remembered fondly by her friends in the community.

 

A private graveside service will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery on Friday, July 10, 2020. Interment in Pine Hills Cemetery.
