Condolences to Ed's family. I got know this kind gentleman a few years back, and enjoyed the moments I could with him. I liked his favorite say, "What a life without a wife". We will miss him too!

I watched Ed from the box office on most Fridays as he entered The Aud, on his way to watch the Rangers.
He was always smiling and happy, being warm and open with everyone he came across. We always loved watching him arrive, as it was part of our nightly routine. We will miss him very much.

Tony and family, my heartfelt condolences on the passing of the family patriarch. I was one of Ed's caregivers in the past year and during The Virus, as he called it. I had a great time chatting with Ed about his past, his family and his experiences. He was such a kidder and tried with all his might to remember as much pertinent detail he could as he told a story. All the photos Helen had framed gave much fodder to assist in those stories. He was a joker with much laughing, enjoyed flirting with the ladies and will be remembered with that sly smile on his gentle face. I'm glad he's back in Helen's arms and no longer lamenting 'what a life without a wife'. A very nice man has left his mark and it is felt in many heavy hearts.

Tony ,Jennifer and Schafer family.
We are sorry for your loss .Since Helen passed, we only spoke to Ed by phone, we will miss him dearly.
We loved when Ed and Helen visited us at our country home.
Ed would always help in any way he could when we were building a shed , making a screened porch or working on an old car.
He loved to sit and watch me work giving instructions on how to do it.
We will miss his laughter , humor and the stories of when he and his brother were growing up .

My wife Shirley & I remember Ed as her friendly & talkative uncle.
Ed's loud voice was one of his trade marks.

Sorry about Ed's passing ... To bad Dr. Tony Schaefer could not remember that Howard Schaefer of Ottawa was Ed's nephew and is still living and niece had a name ... Shirley Marr who was more invested in Ed's life than you were. Not seeing your father for 4 years is disgraceful. You are a poor excuse of a human being Tony
