I always enjoyed the interaction I had with David. The Nigh family was the next door neighbor to the Harvey family and David gave us unending attention with the nicknames he had for each of us. He was our hero when he played for the Tiger Cats. But his broad welcoming smile was a most memorable gift that he gave to the kids next door. A special friend, a YMCA acquaintance both when I worked there and as a participant - I already missed not seeing him regularly due to COVID and will miss him even more now. We also had a special connection through his Aunt Mildred who just recently passed away. Mildred was a childhood pen pal with my mother Arlene Burnett and they became fast friends for many years (80 years to be exact). During that time our family and Harold and Mildred's family connected here and there over the years. We swapped Mildred stories and had many great conversations about life in general. David was a big supporter of the YMCA financially and a special friend to many of those who ran out of the Y. He was a regular with our Waterloo YMCA running group that still gathers annually to share running memories - exaggerated over time in terms of accomplishments and humerous happenings. He will be remembered next time we meet. My condolences to Lynn and the rest of the family. Bernie Burnett

Dave was a wonderful guy. I was one of Dave's YMCA pals for many years. We always had such a wide variety of topics to discuss - his trips south, ski trips west, sailing adventures, and equally his interest in what I was involved in. And a wonderful sense of humour (it took me a few years to catch on to Dave's version of humour). While our Y schedules didn't overlap very often over the past few years, when I did see him we were always able to pick up as if we'd talked the day before. I'll miss him. Trish and my condolences to Lynn and the rest of Dave's family.

Dave treated people with kindness and sincerely cared about them. His good natured personality always got him through anything. He gave me an opportunity to work when BNR was very new and I never forgot that. He surrounded himself with good people and succeeded. Meeting him years after I left BNR he always stopped to say hello. We lost a good one. My condolences to Lynn and the family. He fought well and now can rest. Cheers, old friend.

I enjoyed many enjoyable rounds of golf at Deer Ridge Golf Course with "Dave Nigh the Golfing Guy". Dave was a great person and I will miss him. Rest In Peace, my friend. Paul Boucher.
