Our thoughts are with you as you mourn the loss of your dad. I recall your dad as having a big heart and always wanting to catch up on what our family was doing...and sharing what was happening in your families. What a wonderful man...and dad. Thinking of all of you at this difficult time. May he Rest In Peace.

Dear Eitzen Family,
We extend our deepest sympathy to all of you in the passing of your dear father, Opa and recent great grandfather.
For us, he was always Onkel George and it wasn't until I was older that I realized he wasn't my real Uncle but a brother to our real Onkel Peter Eitzen.
He was always happy, supportive and interested in knowing what was happening in our lives.
There is great rejoicing as he joins our loved ones already in Heaven!
Blessings to all of you,
Margaret
on behalf of the Martha and Nick Sawatzky Family

We are so sorry to hear of George's passing. He and Annie were loyal fans and supporters of the church ball team for many years and he always had a lot of laughs with the team and some good natured ribbing. His favorite line was asking us "Do you have a hole in your glove?" when an error was made in the field! (He usually heckled our team while Annie heckled the other!) A wonderfully kind man with a constant smile. He will be missed by all. My deepest condolences to the Eitzen family.

Vicki and I add our condolences to the family; George was a such a good man.
One example of his boundless enthusiasm and generosity -- he was a supporter of Silver Lake Camp from its earliest years, at a time when it was still a very tentative and contentious venture.
While he could always be counted on to add his passionate opinions to policy discussions at our church, he nevertheless was a stalwart supporter of all our programs. For instance, when he could, he participated in the "Retired Old Men Eating Out" until just recently.
An inspiration to many of us!

My earliest memories of Uncle George are playing and spending time together on my parents (Alfred & Erna Eitzen) farm in North Dakota. When he moved to Ontario our times together were infrequent, but each visit in Ontario or his visits back to our farm are pleasant memories. I am thankful for the ways in which he loved and cared about his sister, Erna, my mother. The spirit of resilience, encouragement, joy, and loyalty, based in his Christian commitment will continue to live on in my life and I am sure the lives of many others. May the peace and comfort of God, that exceeds all comprehension, be with his family! Twyla (Eitzen) Lee
