We were so sorry to hear about Doug's illness and subsequent passing; our condolences to Ruth and the rest of his family. We had many wonderful conversations about gardening and orchids over the fence while out for a walk. We will always remember the house by the path where the orchids seemed to always be in bloom, and the man who lived there with a passion that we shared.

Doug from Canada, Ruth from Singapore. On a separate Christian mission to a far corner of the Earth, they met. Fell in love, got married and stayed happily married. I knew Doug as a good person and a qualified Pastor. Thank you Doug for taking good care of my sister Ruth.

Our condolences to all of Doug’s family. In my teen years I spent many Sunday afternoons hanging out with Doug’s sister, Ruth and him. If one of the farm cats had passed away we would hold a ceremonious burial complete with flowers and crosses along the back farm lane. Doug will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit.
