Fr. Ernie spent several vacations with my family in the Kawartha's and many evenings visiting the family in Paris. He was like an uncle to me and my siblings. In high school, Fr. Ernie taught me World Religons, inviting guest speakers of all faiths to chat about their faith, and broaden our respect for those who did not practice Christianity. Several years later, Fr. Ernie provided me a letter of reference, assisting me in becoming a police officer. He concellebrated my wedding, and baptised my children. I am so grateful for having him be part of so many moments in my life.
