Obituary of Ronald Hubert Stone
July 15, 1930 – November 27, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Hubert Stone in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Vera for 66 years. Devoted father to Scott (Sandy) and Leslie. Cherished grandfather to Jeffrey, Laura, Kimberley, Christopher and James. Born in Toronto (Swansea), Ontario to Percy and Violet Stone.
Ronald graduated from University of Toronto Victoria College with a degree in Commerce and Finance in 1952. He spent several decades as Business Director at Erindale Secondary School, Mississauga, preparing young people for a life in business. Ron was athletic, participating in several sports over the years. In his earlier years Ron was an excellent tennis player and later immersed himself in curling. An avid hiker, Ron enjoyed discovering the Bruce Trail and enjoyed many scenic hiking adventures in the Canadian Rockies and in other countries. Ron loved sailing his catamaran and made many memories with family and friends at the family cottage on Lake Muskoka. Ron was keenly interested in history and spent a great deal of time involved in the restoration project at Old Fort Willow in Midhurst, Ontario.
A private family service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo. A Celebration of Life will take place next year.
