Cheryl and family,
On behalf of all the Mangone family, our sincere condolences. We will always remember the friendship and fine food Bruce offered at the Harmony Lunch. With over 70 years of cooking experience, Bruce made the best tasting burgers in the Waterloo/Kitchener area. A kind and caring person. He will be deeply missed by family, friends and the community, he supported.

On behalf of the Waterloo Minor Baseball Association our sincere sympathy to Cheryl and her family
on Bruce's passing. Bruce was a constant supporter to the youth and adult leagues in Waterloo, both in softball
and baseball. Games that come to mind are Dorscht Sports vs Harmony Lunch and after games
harmony burgers and strawberry milkshakes. Thanks to Bruce for many good memories.

To the Marks family,
My deepest condolences on your loss. Bruce was such a nice man. He was the best boss I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, due to his easygoing nature. He was always in a great mood. This is a sentiment that all the Kennedy sisters shared.
I’ll really miss seeing him at the Seniors Christmas party.

I cannot number the times I spent at the Harmony Lunch and had the opportunity to speak with and get to know Bruce, Lucy, Harry, Dale and Cheryl and many of the staff.
It was a great place for any meal, coffee and desert, and the best seats were at the counter where you could talk and joke with Bruce while he tended the grill. The man was a captive audience but was always part of the conversations.
Breakfasts were a hoot, so many regulars would get together, talk, joke and the laughter was constant and Bruce was as much a part of it as anyone!
I really miss those days. I have often thought of Bruce and wondered how he was, and now am saddened to hear of his passing.
My condolences to his family and many thanks for so many fond memories.

Dear Cheryl and family. Sincerest condolences on your loss.
Many great times were had as I was a frequent flyer at the restaurant for
those “Harmony Burgers”. Bruce was a good friend and we had great times together
at Wasaga along with Jerry & Mary and going out for breakfasts at the beach.
It has been a sad year not being able to socialize and wondered how he was doing.
A kind, gentle wonderful man. He will be missed. I will miss him.

My sincerest condolences to Bruce's family. He is a GREAT man! I spent some time with both Bruce and Lucy during the Kitchener Kieswetter days. I will always remember the tournaments that Bruce and Lucy would come to and after our games we would gather around the trunk of their car and enjoy their famous burgers. Coolers FULL of burgers and fries! And of course, home made pie by Lucy. I would suspect that Bruce is happy to see his Lucy again. The love between the two of them was always out there for all of us to enjoy. Godspeed Bruce ... what an amazing life you lived! Smokey xxoo

In the 50s and early 60s there were only a couple places in K-W for a burger and Coke. Jimmy's Lunch on Victoria St. was one. The Harmony was the other.
Harry and son Bruce Marks ran it efficiently through huge swings in occupancy as, for example, after a Saturday evening Siskins home game it was standing room only. You might find yourself beside future NHL stars including Don Awrey, Gary Dornhoefer, Bill Goldsworth and Larry Johnston at the Harmony. They were hungry and knew a good burger (or 3) was worth the wait
It was then Waterloo's de facto community center and continued so for decades due to Bruce's quiet and friendly manner

Of the handful of times I talked to Bruce, he was only focused on the comfort of everyone he interacted with. From what I experienced, he has always made me feel welcome and accepted even when I was basically a stranger to him. May he rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy to all of the Mark's family. We first met Bruce when we came to Canada in 1967. We heard about this "hamburger joint " in Waterloo so we had to visit it. It was a regular thing every week from then on, I would occassionaly meet Bruce in a parking lot somewhere and we would reminise about "the good old days". I am so happy that I can still purchase the burgers yet. There is no other burger that tastes like it.!!!!!!! R.I.P. my friend, you were a true gentleman.
