I remember seeing Uncle Jerome a lot on weekends at Wasaga Beach. I will always remember him as such a sweet, kind and soft-spoken man. Although soft-spoken, he could carry a great conversation and knew just what to say. Having visited him a couple of times at Derbecker’s Heritage House, St. Jacobs, he was still the same Uncle Jerome, despite his struggles with Alzheimers. I can picture Uncle Jerome with others who have gone before him, happy to be reunited once again, especially with the love of his life, Aunt Shirley.
