March 31, 1926 – December 26, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Brigitte Ritter-Laier at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterloo, ON. She was born in Gotha, Germany and emigrated to Canada in 1953. Brigitte lived a full and joyous life focusing on family, friends, her beloved dogs and her beautiful gardens. She also enjoyed attending various arts productions such as musicals and plays, as well as choral concerts and piano recitals featuring her grand daughter Charlotte.
Brigitte will forever remain in the hearts of her daughters Julia Bourdon (Waterloo, ON) and Karin Ritter (Pittsboro, NC), her son Michael Ritter (Langley, BC) and her grandchildren Alexander Ritter (Berlin, Germany) and Charlotte Bourdon (Waterloo, ON) and her son-in-law Stephen Bourdon (Waterloo, ON). Brigitte was predeceased by her first husband, Rudolf Ritter in 1983 and her second husband, Fred Laier in 1994.
Cremation has taken place. Because of COVID-19, a celebration of Brigitte's life will be held at a later date.
