Obituary of Don Heipel

Passed away unexpectedly, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the age of 83 years.

 

Beloved Dad to Kathy Hergott (John Duffin), loving Grandpa to Michelle Hergott (Thai Ros), Nicole Hergott and Dan Heipel-Legge, and Great-Grandpa to Tylynn and Tyler Ros, Madisyn Hergott and Chelsea Kann.  Don is also survived by his niece Pat Tales and his companion and dear friend Mary Benoit. 

 

Predeceased by his wife Marlene in 1999, sister Mabel (Bill) Grube and parents Larkey and Harvey Heipel. 

 

Many years ago, Don worked with the City of Waterloo and later became a long-time employee of Reliable Transport and Koch Transport.  He loved the outdoors, especially spending time at his trailers at Highland Pines, Holiday Beach and Country Gardens. 

 

The family extends their special thanks to all residents of Maple Heights in New Dundee for their friendship and care shown to Don over the years as well to the staff at both St. Mary’s and Grand River Hospital for their kindness and patience.

 

Cremation will take place and the family will have a private graveside service at Parkview Cemetery at a later date.
