Obituary of William Murray Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Murray on February 11, 2021 at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 84.

Cherished father to Kimberly (Bill) and Bill (Sharon). Devoted grandad to Krista (Dwayne), Jennifer (Jesse) and Kori (Katrina); great-grandad to Lexie, Kiara, Taylor, Forest, Autumn, Jessica and Violet; and great-great-grandad to Kimoni. Survived by his brother Kenneth Wayne and nieces Lisa and Shelly. He will be dearly missed by his best friend Harley. Predeceased by his parents William and Alyce as well as his brother Robert Warren.

When Murray was younger one of his favorite pass times was skydiving. He lived most of his adult life out West and enjoyed some skiing at Wistler. When he moved back to Ontario on nice days he loved to go for rides on his E-bike on the trails and see the scenery and just enjoy the day, sometimes often ending his ride at his granddaughters. The last few years he enjoyed a quiet life of spending time with his best friend, his dog Harley, he would take Harley for a walk and let him run free and check out the sights and smells. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed the outdoors and going on scenic walks with his great grandchildren showing the beauty of the outdoors. Murray loved any animal, and he would sit outside on the front porch and feed the squirrels and chipmunks peanuts and wait for them to come take them out of his hand. 

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Murray’s life will be held in the near future when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
