Jean Shantz was one of my favourite people and my loving Aunt. She had a big heart, gave amazing big hugs and her big infectious laugh always made me smile. She was kind, loving & talented. She is dearly loved and will be dearly missed. I feel she is now reunited with her loving husband and her two dearly loved sisters. Heaven has gained another fabulous Mackenzie gal and I imagine their laughter filling heaven’s halls. My condolences and love to Sandy (Gail), Ian (Sheila), Cam (Mary) and all the rest of the family.

Sandy, Ian and Cameron and family
Jean was always such a classy Lady yet friendly and humble.
We joined her and several Knox folks on a tour of Scotland and Ireland in 2003. There were times that she knew more about a particular site than the tour guide did. She and your Dad had been to some of the sites before.
Her music skills were always enjoyed at Knox.
She will be missed !

Jean embodied such wisdom and was kind and gracious to all who knew her. Fondest of memories of spending Knox Book Club afternoons in her home where we discussed books, had great conversations and enjoyed tea in Jean’s special tea cups. Our sympathy to the Shantz Family. Jean was one of the kindest people I ever met. She made me feel welcome when I first joined the Philharmonic Choir and visited me when I had a new baby. I didn't know anyone in Kitchener-Waterloo at the time and her generous spirit helped me to feel connected. I think of her often, and I am so sorry she is gone. My heart aches for her family. With deep sympathy, Luisa D'Amato
