Obituary of John Douglas MacDonald

MacDONALD, John Douglas.

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to John MacDonald after a lengthy illness.  For over 3 weeks he was in the ICU unit of Grand River Hospital. The nurses and doctors were the most compassionate and caring professionals who went above and beyond to help him and will always be in our prayers.  He will be remembered for his acerbic wit and his joie de vivre.

John is survived by his loving wife Millie, his adoring sister Joan Elliott and her husband Rick, his nephew Mark Stevenson (Jenny), also by Millie’s son Stephen Ebbers and his children Brian and Ylse Ebbers.  John’s cousins were all very fond of him.  We will all miss him. 

According to John’s wishes, funeral services will not be held.  The family will have a private celebration of his life at a later date. Interment of his ashes will be held at Hampstead Cemetery.
