Chris, I am heartbroken to hear of your father's passing - and at such a young age. I remember you and your dad well and fondly from my days in Waterloo, when you were an Air Cadet. Your dad and I had many enjoyable conversations about our mutual connections up in Owen Sound.
I was 35 when I lost my mother at age 62, so I have a sense of what you are going through. I pray you find comfort in the love of your family and friends at this difficult times.

I met John at the Ray of Hope community centre. He was an amazing volunteer who so clearly had a heart for the folks we serve and always shared the love of Christ with them. I will miss his warm and sincere presence he had every time he served our guests at the community centre. He will missed by all of us.

It is most difficult to encapsulate the kind of man my friend John was.
He had an infectious laugh, he never met a stranger and was incredibly generous of spirit. The loss of my friend is great, but I know we will see one another again and pick up where we left off.

Dad - For 37 years you were my father and my teacher. We didn't always agree but you taught me to be honest, caring, loving, dedicated, a patriot, a husband and most importantly a daddy. I will never forget our long talks our humorous stories and how to be a man. You've shaped so much of my life. I know my first Son Gideon was there to welcome you to Glory and show you around God's Kingdom - I am so thankful that you finally get to know your grandson Gideon and spend some time with him.
While you are gone from this earth you are certainly not forgotten and and we will meet again. I only hope one day I am half the man you were. You're so loved and you inspired so many you will be so dearly missed. Those of us who are left will pick up the torch and forever carry on your legacy.

John was my best friend, Cathy. We met for about an hour each week and discussed my problems etc.
We had an arrangement that whenever I fell into a certain sin I would confess it to him. This helped a lot!
He prayed for me every day.
I would call him my counselor and he would say he was just my friend.
