Obituary of Susan Morgan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Sue Morgan, on April 3, 2021.

Sue is predeceased by Sandy (2018), her devoted husband for 57 yrs. She is survived by her children Tara, Jay (Barb) and Marna (Eric). Mom absolutely loved being Grandma to Samantha MacDonald (Anna) and Aunt to her nephew David Morgan and nieces, Deb Morgan, and Martha Morgan.

If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Sue, you’ll likely remember her smile, vivacity and kindness. Sue lived with M.S. for nearly 30 years, and although she had a physical disability, she possessed an optimism that saw no bounds. Sue’s greatest satisfaction (aside from raising her children) came from her years of volunteer work for the KW region, the province and the federal government. There are far too many committees/accolades to list, but being named Senior of the Year in 2020 by the city of Kitchener and the Ontario Government was an award she received with immense pride.

Sue was an avid reader. She easily devoured about 5 books a week over a span of 60 years. When she lost her sight, Kitchener Public Library supplied her with Audio books so she could continue to enjoy her favorite pastime. We’ll fondly remember her curled up with a good book, enjoying a butter and brown sugar sandwich along with a “funny” coffee.

Special thanks to her friends and greatest supporters after Dad died, Paula & Paul Saunders. Also to the great many people who made her feel loved and appreciated, Thank you!

Sue wanted no service or visitation, and due to COVID lurking we will respect her wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kitchener Public Library or the Independent Living Center of Waterloo Region would be much appreciated and may be arranged by contacting the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home at 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com.

We reserved the last word for Sue … “Get out in your community, Volunteer”, as she loved to say!
