With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Marilyn on Thursday April 8, 2021 at The Village at University Gates, Waterloo, in her 80th year.
Beloved wife of Larry, whom she married Sept. 17, 1960. Dear mother of three special children, Shawn (Sue), Deonne (Vince) Cerullo and Bryce. Six wonderful grandchildren, Anthony, Amy, Raymond, Owen, Jack and Robert. Remembered by sisters Claire LaFlamme, Joan (Mike) Roga, Vivian Rickert and Emilie Totzke, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents Rose and Jerry LaFlamme, Frank Uttley (Stepfather), and sisters Lorraine Daub, Elaine Maziarz and brother Jim LaFlamme.
Marilyn and Larry attended Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Waterloo. Marilyn was a staunch Catholic who lived and loved her faith. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and a volunteer for the Freeport Hospital for many years.
Marilyn was well like by all who knew her. She was compassionate, an easy listener, a real confidant, an adoring full-time mother, a doting grandmother, and had the ability to enjoy and appreciate everyone.
In 1980, Marilyn and Larry started their adventures of motorcycling and covered every province and state in North America, except Alaska. They travelled the Alps several times and broke a million kilometers in 2016. Marilyn never complained and had the respect of several clubs as a real biker. Marilyn enjoyed travelling, playing cards, gardening, decorating, and spending time with family and friends.
Marilyn developed dementia and in 2017 was admitted to long term care as a result of a motorcycle accident. She fought it like a warrior.
We would like to thank Mary Simpson Jones for her guidance, and support during this difficult time. Thank you to the staff of Hagey Village at University Gates for all their love, guidance and support shown to Marilyn.
