Obituary of Margaret Rose Kennedy

Margaret died peacefully at Hospice Waterloo Region in her 87h year.  Born in Long Branch, Ontario to the late Alfred and Edith Cook.  Survived by her husband of 65 years, Gordon; her children: Beth Steffler, Ian (Cathy), Brian (Jennifer), Dianne; her grandchildren: Gordon, Alan (Sarah), Colin (Lyndsey), Andrew, Rebecca, Connor, Evan, Kirsten and her great-grandchildren: William, Abigail, Genevieve, Jack and Grace. Also survived by her sisters Catherine Elliott, Anne Smith, her brother Alfred Cook and her brothers and sisters-in-law: Ray Smith, David Kennedy, Kay Jones and Moyra Cook.  Pre-deceased by son Gordon Anderson, son-in-law Ronald Steffler and sisters Lucy Bailey and June Swaine.  Marg will be missed by her many nieces and nephews and friends. 

Long-time member of All Saints Anglican Church, Waterloo, Margaret was a past member of the Chancel Guild and had been a member of the choir for the last several years.  In 2010, she was presented with the Bishop’s Award for Excellence in Ministry for her many years of service to the church.

As per Marg’s wishes cremation has taken place.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family inurnment will be held at St. Jude’s Cemetery, Oakville.  A celebration of life will be planned for all family and friends when allowed.
