We are saddened to announce the passing of Dorothea Grupp (nee Braunke) on April 27th at the age of 80 at Grand River Hospital, KW Campus, Kitchener.

Born September 16, 1940 in Poland to the late Otto and Eugenie Braunke.  Survived by her loving husband Werner of over 62 years.  Dear mother of Michael.  Cherished grandmother of Robert (fiancée Alandra) Grupp and Sarah Grupp, deeply missed by Susan Grupp. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Rosemarie (John) Czerwinski, of Lion’s Head; brother-in-law Walter (Maria) Grupp, of Kitchener,  Sisters-in-law Elfriede, Irmgard, Doris and Erika, all of Germany.   Predeceased by sister-in-law Gudrun Steinhilber.

Dorothea was a longtime, faithful member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Kitchener.  She was active in many of the women’s groups and especially enjoyed working in the kitchen preparing meals for seniors.  She loved the task of cutting up the vegetables and became affectionately known as the ‘salad lady’.  Her presence there will be missed.
