Patricia June (nee Hewer) Oberholzer passed away peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2021 with her daughter Kathryn by her side. We were blessed that our family were able to give their love to her prior to her passing. How fitting for Pat to pass away on Queen Victoria’s birthday.  She was Don’s Queen and this showed her English heritage which she was always proud of.

When Our Lord united Patricia (nee Hewer) Oberholzer and Donald Oberholzer in holy matrimony it was for life; 1 week shy of 68 years. They were inseparable and that is why Our Lord has called Patricia home just 3 short weeks after He called Donald home (May 2, 2021).

Patricia was born February 27, 1933 to Samuel Roland Hewer and Helen Annie (nee Dobson) Hewer. She is survived by her loving children Michael (Xanthy) Oberholzer, Kathryn (Danny) Ziegler, Paul (Mary, deceased 2020) Oberholzer. She enjoyed her grandchildren immensely and celebrated every special occasion with them, Laura-Lynn Ziegler, Jennifer (Justin) Zielman, Kaitlyn (Johnny) Berwick, Tyler (Jamie) Oberholzer and Eric Oberholzer. She recently became a great grandmother to 2 precious great grandsons Timothy Berwick and Jaxon Zielman and was blessed to meet and hold them throughout this COVID period. Pat was also blessed with her step-grandchildren and great- step-grandchildren Nadine (Jacques) Haggai, children Samuel and Emily; Sherry (Graham) Price and children Noah, Sophie, and Morgan; Matthew (Marina) Price and children Oliver, Lucy, and Molly. All our dogs will miss Nana's special treats. Pat was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Donald Oberholzer, parents Roland and Helen (nee Dobson) Hewer, brother Roland (Evelyn) Hewer and sister Joy (Joseph) Bailey.

She will be greatly missed by her lifetime, best friend Mary Hicks of Stoney Creek and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia grew up in Guelph. She was a puck bunny and it was at the hockey rink she met her future husband Donald. Patricia enjoyed sewing and made sure her daughter Kathy and she had new Easter outfits for many years and continued sewing for her granddaughters Laura-Lynn, Jennifer and Kaitlyn. She loved to knit and made Kathy many clothes for her Barbie dolls, and sweaters for Michael, Paul and her grandchildren. Pat and Don were long time parishioners and one of the "pioneers" of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish CWL and quilters group for many years. They would make a quilt a week and she made many for her family. She volunteered as a sacristan, lead and helper for funerals, and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. She volunteered at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish elementary school for many years. Pat enjoyed bowling, playing cards and watching baseball and hockey. She enjoyed supporting her children in the sports they played and rarely missed a game and attended activities her grandchildren were involved in.

We want to give a huge thank you to the staff at Barnswallow Place who loved our Mom as their own. They have given the utmost care and love to our Mom and Dad and we truly appreciate them.
