Passed away peacefully on June 4, 2021 at 93 years of age. Born in Waltersdorf, Transylvania, Romania in 1928, he was the devoted husband of Anna (nee Markus), devoted father of Annemarie (Scott Hills), Erich (Sonia Shields) and Peter (Julia Wayand); cherished grandfather of Andreas (Adrian Hart), Alexander, Nikolas, Isaac and Angelika and brother to his only surviving sibling Maria Schaefer. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Maria; siblings Peter, Katherina and Rosina. Arriving in Canada as a refugee in 1949, he built his family and construction business “Michael Boehm Home Improvements Ltd”. One of the founding members of the Transylvania Club and Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Kitchener, he was proud of his Transylvanian Saxon heritage. A lover of life, music, dance and the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing, he enjoyed his membership at the German Canadian Hunting and Fishing Club (Hubertushaus).
He revelled in the company of family and friends and took particular delight in his grandchildren.
Special thanks for the care provided by the staff at University Gates and Lisaard House.
